I wasn’t a big fan of Gruenwald’s run but I loved those two. Rachel is just one of the most interesting Marvel characters. She wasn’t someone that Steve fell in love with at first glance (she was a villain when they met) and while some people say that Steve was the sole cause of her turning to the light side, it was Rachel herself who decided to become a hero on her own (Steve was only one of the many motivations as to why she did it but not the sole one).
And I also like the thought of a 1940’s guy like Steve dating a woman with punkish half-shaved pink hair, you don’t think they would be each other’s type but here they are.
It is an oddly appealing pairing. A man frozen since the 1940’s dating extreme 90’s looking woman with a punkish hairdo. Sounds like a sitcom.
I’ve never read a thing with her in it. I’ll have to fix that.
